2025 "Of the Year" Nominating Form

We love to recognize our members for the wonderful things that they do!  Please nominate a deserving individual or company.  These awards will be presented at our annual installation on Wednesday, November 19th at The BEC at EFC Farms. Registration for the event is now open!  

To help with the nominations, the leadership development committee has made a few recommendations of members who may qualify for each award.  We apologize in advance if we missed anyone and encourage write-in nominations.

Realtor of the Year:

This is considered the highest honor bestowed by the Board.  It is designed to go to the individual REALTOR®  who has done the most for the organization during the year selected.  This person should exemplify all the REALTOR®  standards and be considered a role model for others with their professional image and conduct.  The recipient must have been a B.E.R. member for at least three (3) years. Their qualities should embody the following attributes in addition to their role: helpful to other members, shares knowledge, always willing to help, and makes an active effort to contribute to the Association and the membership, regularly attends committee/workgroup meetings, and association functions. Attends educational seminars and maintains current knowledge of the real estate industry. Makes contributions through service, participation, and membership in civic, political, and cultural organizations that benefit the community.  No individual will receive the award in two (2) consecutive years.  This award will be presented by the previous year’s winner.  Last years winner was Mark Ledbetter.

Affiliate of the Year:

This award is designed to recognize the person who has done the most to support the Board during the year selected.  To be eligible, the individual is recommended to have been an active Affiliate for at least one (1) year and may have actively served on at least one committee/workgroup. Qualities of the nominees may include engagement/attendance at BER events, participation in the Ambassador program, sponsorships, teaching classes, and advocates for the REALTOR® brand.   No individual will receive the award in two (2) consecutive years. Last years winner was Danielle Damianov.

Affiliate Company of the Year:

This award is designed to recognize the company that has done the most to support the Board during the year selected.  To be eligible, the individual is recommended to have been an active Affiliate for at least one (1) year and may have actively served on at least one committee/workgroup. Qualities of the nominee may include engagement/attendance at BER events, participation in the Ambassador program, sponsorships, teaching classes, and advocates for the REALTOR®  brand.   No individual will receive the award in two (2) consecutive years.  The 2023 winner was Robb & Stucky.

Breakthrough Agent of the Year:

This award is designed to recognize the outstanding performance of a REALTOR® who has been in the business for 2 years or less.  The REALTOR®  has shown outstanding sales performance and exemplary service to the board through committee/workgroup participation and event attendance, and may have made contributions to the community.  More than one agent may qualify for an award in any given year. The 2023 winner was Alice Schwer.

Committee Member of the Year:

This award is designed to recognize a committee member who has done the most to support the board through their committee involvement.  There is no minimum membership time requirement.  The award may be received by a Realtor or an Affiliate. Last years winner was Mark True.

David Hengel Educator of the Year:

This award is designed to recognize the person who has done the most to educate our members.  To be eligible the individual must have an active membership for at least 3 years and has served on at least 1 committee.  No one individual may receive the award for 2 consecutive years.  The individual may be a Realtor or Affiliate. The 2023 winner was Mark Ledbetter.

Global Diversity Achievement Award

This award would recognize a Realtor or Affiliate that has done the most throughout the year to promote and bring awareness of global business as well as the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the SWFL area. No person can win this award two times in a row. Last years winner was James Hunter.

Pat Lord Memorial Community Service Award:

This award is designed to recognize a single member (REALTOR® or AFFILIATE) for service to the community as well as service to the Board.  To be eligible, it is recommended that the individual must have been a B.E.R. member for at least three (3) years.  No individual may receive the award in two (2) consecutive years.  The board will make a donation of $250 in honor of the recipient to the local charity of their choice.

Roger Brunswick BER Advocate Award:

This award is designed to exemplify the attributes of Roger Brunswick, past president of BER and longtime member.  This award will recognize a single individual who is an advocate for BER, who always encourages REALTOR® members to join BER, get involved, and climb the leadership ladder.  The award winner will have exhibited extraordinary service and involvement at the B.E.R. and/or the community over a recommended minimum of three (3) years of B.E.R. membership.  This award may be awarded to a REALTOR® or Affiliate member.  No individual may receive the award in two (2) consecutive years.  Last year's winner was Joni Pavich.

This award honors a REALTOR® ’s commitment to lifelong learning and professional excellence, setting a high standard for the industry.

Criteria for Selection:

  1. Educational Engagement – The recipient must have participated in the most educational programs offered by the association within the calendar year.
  2. Breadth of Learning – Attended a diverse range of courses, including legal updates, market trends, technology training, and professional development.
  3. Application of Knowledge – Demonstrated the ability to apply learned concepts to enhance their real estate practice, benefiting clients and colleagues.
  4. Mentorship & Leadership – May have actively contributed to the growth of others by mentoring, leading discussions, or sharing insights from educational experiences.
  5. Association Involvement – Engaged in committee work, event planning, or other initiatives that support the association’s educational mission is a plus!

This award recognizes a member who goes above and beyond to engage with and may also encourage participation in the association’s programs, events, and initiatives.

Award Criteria:
To be eligible, the recipient must demonstrate:


Active Participation – Regular attendance and engagement in association events, meetings, and programs.
Member Outreach – Consistently encourages colleagues to get involved, whether through personal invitations,     mentorship, or social media promotion.
Innovative Engagement – Brings fresh ideas or strategies to boost member participation and enhance the association’s value.
Volunteerism & Leadership – Contributes time and effort to planning, hosting, or leading association activities.
Positive Impact – Helps foster a welcoming, inclusive, and engaged membership community.
