Committee Interest
The Advisory Council Discusses the following topics and may break into a work groups if needed. The council will meet in person once per month.
Events - The purpose of the Events Committee is to increase the profitability of events for charity and create marketing opportunities for Affiliate members to promote their services to the REALTOR members and the general public, provide feedback for member benefits, aid in recognition and awards programs.
Global Diversity - The purpose of the Global Diversity Committee is to provide member diversity programs, cultivate a culture of equity and inclusion, champion the goal of increasing global business education to foster business growth and opportunity, educate members and consumers on the importance of fair housing laws.
Government Affair/RPAC - The purpose of the Government Affairs Committee (GAC) is to develop sources of financial support from Board members and Board activities to be used to support those candidates for public office at the local, state, and national levels who best support the free enterprise system, private property ownership, and real estate industry positions, and to support issues as identified by the Association to be of importance to the REALTORS® goals.
Professional Development - The purpose of the Professional Development Committee is to develop and administer a well-balanced program of education while trying to serve the educational needs of the membership through various programs and recommendations.
Realtor Review - The purpose is to help provide valuable content for the quarterly publication and assist with review and edits.
Realtor Safety - The purpose is to create safety programs and systems that will help to educate the Realtor member on the importance of Realtor safety.
Strategy - To review the 3-yr strategic plan and make recommendations of strategies and tactics to meet our goals.
YPN - The YPN Committee is a network of up-and-coming REALTORS® and Affiliates involved with B.E.R. and the real estate industry for the purpose of giving back to the community and growing professionally.
The following are stand alone committees. Grievance, Professional Standards, and Leadership Development only meet when called upon for action. MLS and MLS meets monthly via zoom.
Grievance - The purpose of the Grievance Committee is to review complaints referred to it by the Executive Officer or professional standards administrator and determine if the complaint has sufficient substance and merit to warrant an ethics hearing or an arbitration hearing.
Professional Standards - The Professional Standards Committee is the committee of the Board charged with the responsibility for enforcement of the Code of Ethics through the conduct of ethics and arbitration hearings.
Leadership Development Committee - Duties to include planning and selecting Leadership Academy, nominations for Board of Directors and awards, strategic planning, annual leadership training, and local honor society. Qualifications to be on the committee include having served on BOD or completed Leadership Academy.
Media (Brokers ONLY) - The purpose of the Media Committee is to review market statistics and trends. This data is then to be conveyed to the consumer in the form of a press release to highlight the market area of Bonita Springs & Estero. In addition, this press release will be distributed to association members.
MLS - The purpose is to vet products and services considered as external links of the MLS. To review the functionality of the Corelogic Matrix platform and make recommendations for possible changes.
